What do I do if I need to make a SMART claim?
Firstly, please check that the damage fits within the template provided in your policy pack.
Don’t worry if you’re unsure though, you can always send us some photos to take a look at.

Where do I go to get my car fixed under a SMART policy?
One of the benefits of our SMART Protect policy is that our technicians can arrange to come to you and carry out the repair at a convenient and safe place, which could be your home or where you work. Our advisors will confirm this with you when processing your claim.
Can I make a claim on a scratch that has occured on the vehicle before buying a SMART polcy?
Unfortunately we cannot accept liability for the effects of poor repairs, faults or defects at the time you purchased your car. You would need to contact your selling dealer directly.
When do I have to report the damage to my vehicle?
This is subject to the terms and conditions of your policy. However it's recommended you contact us as soon as damage is noticed on your vehicle.
How quickly will the repairs take place?
This depends on when the nominated repairers are in your area, however the repairers will contact you within two working days of your claim being authorised by AutoProtect to arrange an appointment.
What is covered under SMART Protect?
SMART Protect covers scuffs, dents, chips and light scratches within the limits of the template in your terms and conditions, which also offer descriptions of the damage included.
What is not covered under SMART Protect?
SMART Protect does not cover scuffs, dents, chips and light scratches which fall outside of the template provided with your terms and conditions.
The policy does not cover panel replacement, stickers and decals, beading and mouldings, cracked or dented bumpers or their replacement.
